The closing ceremony for the first Shandong Digital Engineers Innovation and Creativity Competition & International Digital Engineer Invitational Contest was recently held in Qingdao West Coast New Area.
Launched in July, the event attracted 6,888 participants with 2,108 projects from over 40 Chinese cities and countries including Germany and Indonesia. Competing across four tracks — artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, industrial internet, and digital creativity — the contest set new highs in both scale and project quality among similar competitions.
Awards were presented during the ceremony, with 12 projects winning first prizes, 36 winning second prizes, 48 winning third prizes, and 177 earning honors. Winning entries focused on smart ocean technology, healthcare, modern agriculture, and industrial intelligence, showcasing the close integration of digital technology with the real economy and its vast potential to empower various industries. Finalists demonstrated their innovations through live presentations and video presentations.
Alongside the finals and closing event, activities for digital talent exchange, project matching, and investment talks were held. Sixty local enterprises, 20 investment institutions, six banks, and four digital achievement transformation bases engaged with participants, resulting in 34 preliminary cooperation agreements. These outcomes highlight the vibrant synergy between industry, academia, research, and application in driving digital innovation.
