Boasting a history of more than 120 years, Anna Villa broke ground in 1901 and was erected in 1903. Robert Kappler, a German, was the first owner and built the villa to express his love for his family. After years of ups and downs, the owners changed, but the loving vibes of the residence persist.
In the late 1940s, Liu Zishan, the villa's owner and the richest man in Qingdao at the time, let it out to wealthy families and big companies. Thanks to the facilities built by the rich tenants, the villa then transformed into a gathering place for local residents, who helped each other out.
Currently, the villa serves as a place for visitors to take pictures and for newlyweds to register their marriages. Decorated with romantic elements such as clusters of red roses and a pair of giant angel wings, the villa is also an ideal place for love-themed events.
On this year's Valentine's Day, a total of 99 couples gathered together at the villa to make solemn pledges of their endless love.
