Nearly 20 foreign students from 10 countries including Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Indonesia visited Puji town in Jiaozhou, a county-level city of Qingdao, Shandong. There they experienced the multidimensional development of Chinese rural areas by seeing the outstanding traditional Chinese culture and industrial development in the modern era.

Intangible cultural heritage is not only an important part of China's outstanding traditional culture but also a main driving force for rural vitalization. The ancient and exquisite decorative technique of embedding polished shells of various shapes into objects, a process known as luodian, is revitalizing in Puji town.

Visiting the luodian craft exhibition hall at Qingdao Luobei Shijia Cultural Communication Co Ltd, under the guidance of the company's head, Ji Zhengqiang, the students toured the exhibition hall and personally experienced the intangible cultural heritage of luodian craftsmanship.

"Embedding shells on boxes can create such beautiful artwork. This is the first time I have seen such a handicraft, and it's very intriguing. Chinese culture is very rich and interesting, exceeding my expectations. I want to give the luodian bookmark that I made by hand to my friend," said a Russian student on the tour.

Industrial revitalization is the foundation and key to comprehensive rural vitalization. Currently, Jiaozhou city is promoting industrial transformation and upgrades.

At the Yeswood Intelligent Home Industry Park, the smart home exhibition hall, digital production workshops, and intelligent three-dimensional warehouses are neatly arranged, surrounded by nearly 80 upstream and downstream supporting enterprises. Transport vehicles shuttle back and forth in the park, carrying home products heading to either places throughout China or overseas.

"The production scale of home products here is large, and the level of product intelligence is also very high," commented a student from Mongolia.
