Since the beginning of this year, Qingdao Port has doubled its efforts in technological research so as to enhance service quality and efficiency. Under the guidance of port-related institutions like customs, maritime bureau, and border control and relevant government departments, Qingdao Port and other shipping companies have synergized efforts towards mutual growth and success.
Compared to the same period last year, it has seen a six percent increase in handling efficiency, a 15 percent increase in cargo volume, and surpassed last year's aggregate container throughput 43 days early.
Notably, the new intelligent equipment control system, independently developed by the automated terminal, has been recently upgraded with seven technological innovations such as automated tandem lifting for vessel loading. As a result, the terminal has secured a 6.3 percent year-on-year increase in handling efficiency. These advancements not only helped the terminal break the world record for handling efficiency twice in one year but also elevate customer service standards.
