Enchanting winter escapades: Unveiling Qingdao's cultural tourism charms
This winter, Qingdao is launching a new narrative in cultural tourism, focusing on scenes, formats, festivals, and more, allowing residents and tourists to share a wonderful life through immersive experiences.
At sea, Qingdao Tourism Group launched special sea routes for viewing seagulls. Board a cruise ship, get up close with seagulls on the deck, watch the modern city harmonize with the historic districts, a unique experience particularly welcomed by out-of-town visitors.
On land, Qingdao launched a series of cultural tourism activities for seagull season, which features over 10 exciting activities across six major thematic sections, including the "seeking seagulls" urban stamp collection challenge, seagull creative theme bus, and seagull IP creative market.
In the upcoming New Year cultural tourism season, Qingdao's cultural tourism enterprises are creating a rich and creative atmosphere, delivering emotionally charged cultural tourism experiences.
As a city rich in historical and cultural heritage, Qingdao's unique Eastern and Western-style buildings provide a rich foundation for creating new scenes and experiences in cultural tourism.
On Nov 29, the second Winter Jazz Town opened in three major themed Taipingjiao courtyards in Shinan district: THE SABLON, C-UP Song Mansion, and Taipingjiao No 18 Art Center. These offered over 120 booths with a diverse range of markets, interactions, performances, and entertainment, becoming a fashionable new landmark for winter cultural tourism experiences in the island city.
Amidst the trend of leisure vacations, the Qingdao surrounding tourism market is continuously growing with new vitality beyond traditional scenes.
Recently, the over 400-year-old Laixi mountain festival kicked off, attracting visitors with a variety of colorful activities. Driven by the innovation of cultural tourism integration, in addition to the traditional main offerings such as dramas, snacks, and folk customs, new additions like the "Laixi Courtesy" sales area, intangible cultural heritage exhibition area, and children's playground have been introduced. Especially the display of Laixi's characteristic intangible cultural heritage products such as Guhe paper-cutting, Feng's jade carving, clay figurines, and gourd carving, infuse this gathering, with over 400 years of heritage, not only with a lively atmosphere but also with a profound sense of cultural experience.
