A group of international students from 10 countries, including Kazakhstan and Mongolia, got a close-up look at the beauty, jewelry, and medical beauty industries of Liegezhuang town in the county-level city of Jiaozhou, Qingdao, Shandong, on Nov 28, immersing themselves in the city's innovative and entrepreneurial vitality.
Liegezhuang town holds a global market share of over 40 percent in the production of high-end wigs. As a leading enterprise in Jiaozhou's wig industry, products from Qingdao Premier Wigs Co Ltd are exported to more than 50 countries and regions, including South Africa, Russia, Japan, and South Korea.
At the company, the students learned about wig production, innovative research and development, and the company's international market expansion. They also experienced the wig-making process and the internationally renowned wig products of Liegezhuang town.
"Wigs are very popular in Indonesia, where there are many Chinese-made wig products. Coming to a wig production company today and seeing the excellent quality and wide variety of products here deepened my understanding of the wig industry. This experience is very intuitive and has left a deep impression on me," said an Indonesian student.
As the hometown of Chinese hats, Liegezhuang town has a strong foundation in the beauty industry, with its sports hat industry accounting for about one-third of the global market. Its number of cross-border e-commerce trading entities accounts for over 60 percent of Jiaozhou's total, and it is recognized by the Ministry of Commerce as a national base for transforming and upgrading foreign trade.
Seizing the opportunities presented by the development of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area, also known as SCODA, Liegezhuang town is focusing on creating the SCO beauty valley, which will integrate the medical beauty, beauty, and jewelry industries and introduce cultural creativity, cross-border e-commerce, the headquarters economy, and other cross-border industries.
