Qingdao a hot tourism destination during National Day holiday

During the National Day holiday, Qingdao received a total of 8.43 million visitors, an increase of 15.91 percent compared to the previous year, who spent a total of 9.91 billion yuan ($1.4 billion), a 13.02 percent increase year-on-year.

Official statistics showed that a total of 84 A-level tourist attractions monitored during the National Day holiday received a cumulative total of 6.33 million visitors, a 16.17 percent increase compared to the previous year, and generated operating income of 142 million yuan, a 13.57 percent increase.

Popular activities included historical city tours, sea tours, rural tours, red tourism, entertainment tours, sports and leisure tours, camping, and road trips. The diverse offerings reflected the trend of upgrading Qingdao's consumer market structure and showcased the city's vibrant energy.

Data from Tuniu showed that Qingdao was listed among the top 10 popular domestic destinations in the country.

According to data from Qunar, Qingdao, along with Beijing, Xishuangbanna, and Xi'an, was listed as one of the top money-making cities during the National Day holiday in terms of hotel booking duration, with visitors staying for more than three days on average.

On the Ctrip platform, Qingdao was listed as a popular destination for inbound tourism, with South Korea, the United States, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Russia, and Malaysia being the main source countries for inbound visitors to Qingdao.
