In spring, the parks of Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA), Shandong province are bursting with vibrant colors, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.

In recent years, Qingdao WCNA has been beefing up efforts to advance its development into a "park city", aiming to provide locals with a greener, more accessible and convenient lifestyle.

This year, Qingdao WCNA plans to advance 34 urban park construction projects, including 14 pocket parks, two comprehensive parks, two coastal greenways, and 12 three-dimensional greening projects, aiming to create urban public spaces that combine ecology and culture while meeting the daily needs of residents.

The Dalu River Coastal Greenway project, one of the 34 urban park construction projects, runs from Dalu River Coastal Avenue to the estuary of Lingshan Bay, spanning approximately 530 meters. The project includes space optimization, waterfront reshaping, and integration of the landscape.

The eastern bank of the Dalu River will be transformed into a waterside promenade between the pedestrian walkway and the riverside road, featuring tidal-themed rhythmic curves and spatial variations through cobblestone wall design. On the western bank, the focus will be on reshaping the riverside space, optimizing the Blue Bay trail, and improving the quality of greenery and paving. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
