Grenada students experience local culture in Qingdao WCNA
Eight students from Grenada joined a cultural ceremony named "Kaifu" to celebrate the Chinese New Year and pray for good luck at Langya Terrace, a historical worship site graced by China's first emperor Qinshihuang (259-210 BC) in Qingdao West Coast New Area, Shandong province on Feb 11.
They participated in interactive experiential rituals such as entering the Fumen Gate, receiving blessings, witnessing auspiciousness and obtaining wealth luck, thus ushering in the blessings of the Chinese New Year.
Langya Terrace, with Chinese culture as its core and national and regional cultures as its key features, strives to become a cultural exchange destination for both Chinese and foreign visitors, as well as a humanistic spot along the Maritime Silk Road. This exchange and learning experience allowed the students to truly feel the rich flavor of the Chinese New Year and integrate into the culture of Langya Terrace.

Under the guidance of Xiao Changhui, an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage "Legend of Langya Terrace", the students learned the historical and cultural significance of Langya Terrace and made their wishes for the coming year.
Later, they went to the Baigongfang Cultural and Creative Shop to observe the production of ancient rubbing, an excellent part of the Chinese folk art. Everyone expressed that they had experienced the unique charm and joy of the technique and gained a deeper understanding of the traditional Chinese culture.
