The Qingdao Digital Economy Industrial Park, located in Shinan district, core area of Qingdao city, celebrated its 20th anniversary on Dec 20.

Established in 2003, the park is considered the birthplace of the software industry in Qingdao and has played a pivotal role in nurturing a multitude of software companies and talented individuals over the years.

In response to the new digital economy development trend, the park was renamed Qingdao Digital Economy Industrial Park last year. This change has attracted leading domestic digital economy companies and contributed to the growth of the core industries within the park. It is also among the first batch of digital economy parks recognized by Shandong province.

Looking ahead, the park will focus on developing new industries such as digital economy, artificial intelligence, metaverse and aerospace information. It will support its enterprises in applied basic research and cutting-edge research, nurturing future industrial pioneers.

In line with the district's development plans, Shinan district has been prioritizing modern finance, digital economy, high-end business, fashionable consumption, shipping and trade, cultural tourism, and scientific and technological services. Their aim is to develop a modern industrial system that prioritizes investment attraction, enterprise services and infrastructure construction.
