Six Qingdao companies make list of China's top 500

China unveiled the top 500 Chinese enterprises for 2023 on Sept 20, and six companies based in Qingdao, Shandong province made the list.
The list was published by the China Enterprise Confederation and the China Enterprise Directors Association during a forum held in the city of Hefei, East China's Anhui province.
Qingdao's Haier, Hisense, Shandong Port Group, QDHF, Qingjian Group, and Qingdao West Coast New Area Ronghe Holding made the list, one more than the previous year.
Haier Group, with annual revenue of 350.62 billion yuan ($48.04 billion), ranked 79th, unchanged from the previous year.
Hisense ranked 146th, 11 places higher than the previous year, with an operating income of 184.94 billion yuan in 2022.
Shandong Port Group and QDHF ranked 188th and 233rd respectively, up 84 and 64 places from the previous year.
Qingjian Group ranked 338th with annual revenue of 68.78 billion yuan, down four places from the previous year.
The Qingdao West Coast New Area Ronghe Holding was new to the list this year, ranking 485th, with an operating income of 48.74 billion yuan in 2022.
The entry threshold in terms of revenue for the top 500 enterprises in China stood at 46.98 billion yuan, registering an increase of 2.37 billion yuan compared to the previous year.
