Cross-Strait youth visit Qingdao
More than 20 young bloggers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, as well as teachers and students from Chinese Culture University, visited Qingdao's West Coast New Area and Chengyang district from July 31 to Aug 1, to explore the city's vibrant economy, picturesque landscapes, and unique cultural and tourism resources.
The group learned about Qingdao's research and development strength and development potential in marine pharmaceuticals at CP Pharmaceutical (Qingdao) Co, China's first marine drug production enterprise.

At the fully automated container terminal of Qingdao Port, the group was amazed by the port's container-handling capacity and efficiency.
The automated port terminal boasts the world's leading intelligent production control system, with 16 automated bridge cranes and 76 automated track cranes running smoothly, and 83 automatic guided vehicles shuttling back and forth. These mark the latest achievements in the construction of smart terminals in China in recent years.
Qingdao Port's container-handling capacity ranked fifth in the world, and the efficiency of its terminals remains No 1 globally.

The group also visited the Qingdao 1907 Movie Museum to gain insights into how the movie industry has changed over the past centuries in China, as well as learn more about Qingdao's booming movie industry.
The students immersed themselves in the beautiful blend of architecture and art at the TAG Art Museum, which was designed by Jean Nouvel, a famous French architect who worked in conjunction with French landscape architect Gilles Clément.
At CRRC Qingdao Sifang Co Ltd, the group learnt about the country's advanced high-speed rail equipment and technology.
They also visited the 33rd Qingdao International Beer Festival to enjoy some fresh hops, gourmet food, and wonderful performances.
