The Zhongshan Road Urban Memory Museum in Qingdao's Shinan district opened on Sept 29 and became a hit among visitors during the seven-day National Day holiday, which lasted from Oct 1 to 7.
History and culture is said to be the spirit of a city, and the museum features Qingdao's development from 1891 to 2022, aiming to help deepen people's understanding of the city.
Located on the first floor and in the basement of the former site of Qingdao Chamber of Commerce, the museum's exhibition consists of six parts – old streets, revolutionary history, commercial development, flourishing culture, landmark buildings, and fashionable ambience.
It utilizes historical photos and documents, as well as multimedia technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality to offer an immersive experience for visitors.
The museum was one of the 10 most popular tourist attractions in Shandong province during this year's National Day holiday.
