The playground at Zhongshan Park in Qingdao's Shinan district is scheduled to reopen to the public on Oct 1 after months of renovation, Qingdao News reported.

The old playground is said to bear happy memories for many Qingdao locals.

The renovation project started in February and included landscaping, infrastructure construction and the installation of new amusement rides such as a merry-go-round, the "flying chairs" and mini trains.

The price for each ride is 40 yuan ($5.64) per person for one time.
