Qingdao adds 463 foreign-funded enterprises in H1

In the first half of this year, 463 foreign-funded enterprises were newly established in Qingdao, Shandong province, with registered capital totaling $10.74 billion, according to statistics from the Qingdao municipal market supervision bureau.
As of June 30, Qingdao had 13,874 foreign-funded enterprises, with a total registered capital reaching $153.62 billion, up 10.55 percent year-on-year.
Among the 463 newly added foreign-funded enterprises, 146 are engaged in wholesale and retail sales, 76 in information transmission, software and information technology services, 66 in leasing and business services, 65 in scientific research and technology services and 32 in manufacturing, accounting for 31.53 percent, 16.41 percent, 14.25 percent, 14.04 percent and 6.91 percent of the total, respectively.
Seventy-five of the newly added foreign-funded enterprises are located in Huangdao district, 73 in Chengyang district, 57 in Qianwan Bonded Port Area, 55 in Shinan district and 42 in Jiaozhou.
Qingdao has launched a slew of measures to attract foreign investment and guarantee the smooth operation of foreign-funded companies amid the domestic resurgence of COVID-19 cases. The city is continuing to support foreign businesses in the area and improve cooperation with foreign chambers of commerce and enterprises.
