China-SCO Institute of Economy and Trade inaugurated in Qingdao
The China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Institute of Economy and Trade was inaugurated in Qingdao, Shandong province on Jan 13.

The institute, supported by the China-SCO Demonstration Zone for Local Economic and Trade Cooperation and Qingdao University, is designed to integrate high-quality domestic resources, further strengthen the training of economic and trade professionals for the SCO and countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and build new platforms for multilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Guided by the "Shanghai Spirit", the institute will highlight its international, market-oriented and innovative educational features and build a discipline system known as "Economy and Trade Plus".

It will also cultivate economic and trade talent familiar with the national conditions of SCO countries and international rules and capable of serving the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
It will build a professional and diversified talent training platform, high-end international think tank platform, and smooth and efficient platform for economic and trade cooperation and exchange.
The China-SCO demonstration zone has organized 28 foreign aid and economic and trade training sessions, including a study course on international logistics and multimodal transport of SCO member states and a training course on cross-border e-commerce. More than 3,000 people from 43 SCO countries and BRI-related countries participated in the training.
The China-SCO demonstration zone was approved by the central government for collaboration with SCO members in logistics, trade, investment, tourism and culture.
