Sailing events to be held in Qingdao
The sailing capital of Qingdao, Shandong province is scheduled to host a series of large sailing events this summer, according to an announcement by the Chinese Yachting Association.

The events will include the annual Qingdao International Sailing Week and Qingdao International Marine Festival, the "Fareast Cup" International Regatta, and the Shandong Peninsula City Sailing Rally. The Qinghai-Macao International Sailing Rally will be held for the first time.
Eight sailing events will be held in Qingdao in August, the best time for sailing and the city's tourist peak season.
As the cradle of sport sailing in China, Qingdao has hosted international events such as the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Competitions, the Clipper Round the World Race, the Volvo Ocean Race, the Extreme Sailing Series, and the Asia leg of the International Sailing Federation's ISAF Sailing World Cup.
Qingdao boasts a spectacular oceanfront for all kinds of water sports along its 863 kilometers of shoreline. The city has also been ramping up efforts to cultivate local sailing events in recent years.
