International business clubs in Qingdao, Shandong province are finding ways to explore the international market, facilitate global cooperation, and enhance the competitiveness of foreign trade firms, according to local officials.

The Qingdao-South Korea International Business Club was launched in November 2019 as a new platform for helping potential South Korea-related projects, enterprises, and business associations enter the Chinese market and helping Chinese investments enter South Korea.

The platform has already helped more than 60 Korean organizations, business associations, and enterprises.

Business clubs for boosting business ties with Japan, Germany, Israel, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization member nations have existed in Qingdao for over a year.

In addition, a club for boosting cooperation with major domestic State-owned enterprises and one for advancing the local development of the artificial intelligence industry were also established in the city. 

The Qingdao-Japan International Business Club has hosted 26 promotional activities since it was unveiled on May 19, 2020.

Located in the Qingdao International Economic Cooperation Zone in the West Coast New Area, the club consists of a 3,000-square-meter service hall and a demonstration zone promoting regional development and cooperation between Qingdao and Japan.

The hall includes zones for exhibitions, conferences, and administrative work and will help boost project-pairing activities and facilitate investment and business from Japanese companies.

It is currently home to 44 enterprises and has signed agreements for four key projects thus far. It has also established long-term cooperative relations with 15 Japanese financial institutions and trade associations, including Mizuho Bank and the Japan-China Economic Association.

The Qingdao-Israel International Business Club is helping Qingdao become a new hub for Sino-Israeli scientific cooperation, with more than 40 exchange activities held and 30 key projects signed.
