High-speed rails to slash travel time between Qingdao and Yangtze River Delta region

(chinadaily.com.cn) | 2020-08-25

The Yancheng-Nantong High-Speed Railway and the Lianyungang-Zhenjiang High-Speed Railway are set to begin operations by the end of this year.

The railway lines will cut the travel time from Qingdao West Railway Station to Shanghai or Nanjing to within four hours.

The Yancheng-Nantong High-Speed Railway, which measures 156.6 kilometers, is connected to the Qingdao-Yancheng Railway in the north and to the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Railway in the south.

It connects Yancheng Station to the Nantong West Railway Station in the south. The maximum speed on this line is 350 kilometers per hour.

The Lianyungang-Zhenjiang High-Speed Railway is 304.5 kilometers long with a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour. It will serve as an auxiliary channel between Xuzhou and Shanghai, thus relieving pressure on the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway.

When the two railways open, passengers can reach key cities in the Yangtze River Delta such as Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Yangzhou from the Qingdao West Railway Station within four hours.
