The Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS) has recently decided to work with Shinan district, Qingdao in an effort to provide a wider range of internship opportunities for talent.
This year, a new internship center is expected to offer more than 80 posts related to marine biology, marine ecology, physical oceanography, and marine geology.
IOCAS, established on Aug 1, 1950, is the first state-founded institute focusing on marine scientific research since the establishment of New China. It is considered one of the country's most important centers of marine science.
The institute currently has over 720 employees, including 650 professional technicians and three academicians of the Chinese Academy of Science and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Shinan district currently has 48 internship centers covering dozens of industries, including architecture, computer software, hotel and catering, human resources, accounting services, legal services, and healthcare.
These centers provide over 2,000 internships throughout the year, relieving job-hunting pressure on graduates and helping local enterprises more easily hire talent.
Moving forward, the district's bureau of human resources and social security plans to promote closer contact between enterprises and internship centers to help with high-quality employment.
