Located at No 1 Lanshan Road, Shinan district, the Qingdao Music Hall, formerly known as Qingdao Hall, is a modern European-style building designed by Zheng Depeng. Established between April 1934 and July 1935, the hall is situated on 2,500 square meters and covers a combined floor area of 700 sq m. It was the largest hall in Qingdao at that time and served as a venue for public rallies, academic lectures and art performances.

In 2006, the hall was renovated into a professional venue and was named as Qingdao Music Hall. With 482 seats, the music hall started operations on Jan 1, 2007.

As the former site of Qingdao Hall, the music hall was listed as one of the city's cultural relic protection sites in November 2008. Since its opening, it has hosted over 1,000 competitions, art performances and training activities, attracting more than 300,000 spectators.
