The opening ceremony of the 2024 China-ASEAN TVET Rising Star Study Tour took place in Yantai on Dec 2. Thirty-two students from ASEAN countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Indonesia will participate in the week-long vocational skills training program covering 17 majors, including business management and software technology.
Yang Rui, a project director at the China Education Association for International Exchange, mentioned that 2024 is designated as the China-ASEAN Year of Cultural Exchange, with a focus on deepening cooperation in culture, tourism, and youth interactions. The study tour aims to significantly improve their professional skills.
Ding Chunyan, vice president of Yantai Vocational College, emphasized the school's active integration into Yantai's external openness strategy and its close collaboration with ASEAN. The college is committed to providing thoughtful services, shaping the study tour into a journey of expanding horizons, enriching skills, and building friendships.
After the ceremony, the students took part in an ice-breaking team-building exercise, attended Yantai cultural lectures, and experienced Jiaodong paper-cutting workshops.
Through hands-on practice, company visits, forums, cultural lectures, and cultural experiences, this activity provides professional knowledge and skills, insights into Chinese culture, and camaraderie between Chinese and ASEAN youth.
