Shandong has unveiled a series of innovative tourism initiatives to attract visitors during the peak summer travel season, leveraging its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes to offer unforgettable experiences.

A highlight of the summer tourism campaign is the launch of the camping map for the 2024 "Friendly Shandong" Camping Season, featuring 247 campsites across 16 cities. This comprehensive guide caters to a wide range of camping preferences, from beachside relaxation to stargazing adventures.

Additionally, cities like Yantai and Jinan have introduced a variety of culture and tourism events, such as the 2024 Yantai International Coastal Life Festival and the culture and tourism consumption carnival in Jinan.

The 2024 Yantai International Coastal Life Festival kicked off on the evening of July 20 at Binhai Square and will continue until Sept 7. The event features more than 200 cultural and tourism activities, including concerts, stage performances, art exhibitions, and driving tours, offering visitors the chance to fully take in Yantai's unique urban charm.

The events above offer a diverse range of activities, including food festivals, music concerts, and cultural exhibitions. By combining traditional elements with modern technology, Shandong is enhancing its tourism offerings and attracting a younger generation of travelers. For instance, the province is utilizing digital platforms to promote its attractions and provide real-time information to tourists.

As a result of these efforts, Shandong has seen a significant increase in tourism, particularly at popular destinations like Taierzhuang ancient town, a 5A scenic area in Zaozhuang, Shandong, which has seen a surge in tourism since July, with an average daily attendance of nearly 40,000 visitors.

The province is committed to further developing its tourism industry by investing in infrastructure, improving services, and promoting sustainable tourism practices.
