East China's Shandong recently launched guidelines to support the development of the audio-visual electronics industry, which specify that by 2025, the total revenue of the audio-visual electronics industry in the province will exceed 300 billion yuan ($41.27), with an average annual growth rate of around 10 percent, aiming to develop a number of globally renowned benchmark brands.

According to the guidelines, the province's advantages in the audio-visual industry will be further strengthened by 2027, with the basic establishment of a nationally leading and globally influential audiovisual electronics industrial cluster and a new hub for integrated applications.

The guidelines also focus on six key directions to strengthen the high-end television industry, promote new breakthroughs in virtual reality, explore new opportunities in acousto-optic devices, enhance commercial display in new scenarios, layout new tracks for automotive audiovisual systems, and improve content production to meet new demands. It proposes 15 key tasks across five aspects, including enhancing independent innovation capabilities, optimizing the industrial development layout, strengthening support for industry entities, expanding market application space, and nurturing a sound industrial ecosystem, all aimed at solidifying the industry's distinctive advantages.

Additionally, the guidelines propose helping cities like Qingdao and Weifang expand the production scale of complete virtual reality products as a driving force and create a complete industrial chain covering key components, sensory devices, and content production in these cities.
