Jinan, the capital city of East China's Shandong province, has unveiled measures to explore the potential of cultural tourism consumption during winter to boost local tourism market.

The measures include the launch of seven themed tourist routes and 20 winter tourist attractions, according to a news conference held by the city's government on Dec 19. In order to attract more visitors, tourist spots, star-rated hotels and local homestays will offer discounted off-season tickets or prices, preferential bundled tickets, and online promotions.

Sun Jing, deputy director of the Jinan bureau of culture and tourism, said that by making full use of the city's unique winter cultural tourism resources, they aim to stimulate the potential for cultural tourism consumption and ensure that the tourism market remains active even during the off-season.

The bureau has organized various districts, counties and cultural tourism businesses to plan the themed activities of "New Year Travel in Jinan" and provide a variety of cultural tourism products to meet the demands of local residents and tourists from around the country, Sun said.

The themed tourist routes have been designed to integrate resources, such as spring viewing, ice and snow wonders, high-end accommodations, and cultural study programs.

Additionally, cultural service facilities, such as museums, cultural centers, libraries, art galleries, and theaters, will fully utilize their functionalities and offer interactive and immersive cultural tourism products during the festive season.
