Weihai fair to boost ties with South Korea

The third Shandong-ROK Import Commodities Fair will be held in the eastern coastal city of Weihai, Shandong province from July 28 to Aug 1.

Co-organized by the Weihai Municipal People's Government, the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Qingdao, this year's edition will be improved in terms of level, scale and content compared with previous sessions, according to the organizers.

Thirty-two Fortune Global 500 and industrial giants including Samsung, Hyundai, Lotte, Amazon, Google, and Baidu have confirmed their attendance at the fair.

Traders from Japan, Russia, Belarus, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, Africa as well as China's Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao have been invited to participate in the exhibition as well.

Spanning an exhibition area of 45,000 square meters and featuring 1,690 international standard booths, the fair will be divided into four sections for Shandong local brands, international exchanges, cross-border trade and China-ROK cooperation achievements.

Six themed activities, including the Weihai Business Promotion Conference, the China-ROK Innovation Competition Award Conference, Commodity Power Development Conference, and development conferences for pre-made dishes, will be held during the fair.

In addition, 20 activities covering procurement matchmaking, cross-border e-commerce product selection, new product launch, and online celebrity livestreaming sales will be hosted to boost consumption and attract more engagement from the public.
