A new freight train loaded with 90 containers of goods departed from Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui autonomous region and headed for the Qingdao Port in East China's Shandong province on July 3.

The goods were unloaded at Qingdao Port before being transported to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam by ferry.

This was the first "one-unit" rail-sea combined transport service jointly developed by Qingdao Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group (SPG), SPG's logistics group and the Ningxia Branch of Sinotrans Central China Company.

In 2020, SPG's logistics group cooperated with the Ningxia Branch of Sinotrans Central China Company and launched the first rail-sea combined transport train linking Yinchuan with Qingdao Port.

The opening of the rail-sea combined transport service is expected to significantly improve logistics connectivity and provide new development opportunities for inland cities.
