Deng Xiangyang, general manager of Weihai Guangwei Group Co (Guangwei), was named as one of the "Leading Entrepreneurs in Shandong" on Feb 7, and the honorary title is an affirmation of Guangwei's innovation-driven development.

Guangwei currently employs over 4,000 people, including over 900 scientific researchers who have received over 600 patents. Outdoor fishing tackle, carbon fiber and composite materials, vehicle parts, and related supporting materials are the foundation of the company's three industrial clusters.

In recent years, Guangwei has made a commitment to innovation-driven development and has boosted its investment in technology innovation in order to transform the company into a globally renowned brand. More than 10 percent of the company's total sales revenue is spent on research and development.

Guangwei's main source of growth is the outdoor fishing tackle business, which produces fishing rods, fishing line wheels, bait, and other fishing tackle auxiliary supplies. It employs a total of 20 brand general agents.

In addition, Guangwei has registered its trademark in 36 foreign countries and regions, and its products are sold to 64 countries and regions on five continents.

Guangwei has realized the growth of the entire industrial chain in the carbon fiber and composite material sector, from raw silk to carbon fiber, fabric, resin, prepreg, composite materials, production equipment and tooling, inspection and testing.
