Shandong aims to cultivate 51,940 square kilometers of high-standard cropland by 2025 to keep total crop acreage and grain output stable.

By 2030, the province is expected to have 55,466 square kilometers of high-standard cropland to ensure a grain production capacity of more than 57.5 million metric tons.

It will plan and implement high-efficiency water-saving irrigation as well as construct high-standard farmland, and complete the construction of an additional 8,666 square kilometers of high efficiency water-saving irrigation areas.

The province will also strictly penalize the acquisition of farmland for other purposes in violation of laws and regulations.
