An industrial cooperation and matchmaking conference on the bioengineering and pharmaceutical industry was held in the coastal city of Yantai in East China's Shandong province on July 8, aiming to enhance exchanges and cooperation within the industry between Yantai and Japan.

The conference was held via both online and offline channels, and a number of government officials and enterprise representatives from both places were in attendance.

Zheng Deyan, mayor of Yantai, addressed the conference by saying that the bioengineering and pharmaceutical industry in Yantai is a key advantageous industry, which has a sound foundation for development, modern scientific planning and layout, as well as strong scientific research support. In an effort to establish itself as a significant demonstration city for the advancement and innovation of life sciences, Yantai has placed a high priority on bolstering its support for the bioengineering and pharmaceutical industry.

Zheng added that Yantai has a broad space for cooperation with Japan in the industry, scientific research, technology, and talents in the bioengineering and pharmaceutical industry, and he expressed his hope that more and more entrepreneurs and scientists will visit Yantai for pragmatic exchanges and cooperation.
