The city of Zibo – located in East China's Shandong province – on Dec 24 inaugurated a higher learning commission, under the auspices of the Zibo people's association for friendship with foreign countries.
The higher learning commission is expected to be a platform, from which to discuss and coordinate foreign exchanges and cooperation between university councils.
The commission aims to create a cooperation mechanism to strengthen information and resources exchanges between the various universities. It will seek to help integrate foreign exchange channels and to share advanced foreign work experience.
On the same day, the commission held a seminar on the topic of international educational exchanges in the post COVID-19 epidemic era.
Experts – from the national recognition information center for the United Kingdom, Lincoln University College in Malaysia and other institutions – give briefings on their special education projects.
The efforts being made by Zibo are said to be demonstrating its resolve to ensure that its higher education resources go global, with the new commission helping to pave the way.
