Shandong officials attend 4th China-Austria Local Cooperation Forum

Ji Binchang, vice governor of Shandong, as well as officials from the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the Shandong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries attended the 4th China-Austria Local Cooperation Forum, which was held online on Nov 19.

During the forum, Ji introduced the economic construction and social development of Shandong province as well as its achievements in exchanges and cooperation with Upper Austria, one of the nine states in Austria.

Ji said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Austria as well as the 25th anniversary of the establishment of friendly relations between Shandong and Upper Austria.

Shandong would like to take this opportunity to explore new space for cooperation driven by green development, cultivate new driving forces for economic and trade cooperation, enrich sister city cooperation, and deepen friendship and cooperation with local governments of Austria, so as to jointly build a better future of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, said Ji.

As the strongest economic and industrial state in Austria, Upper Austria is willing to deepen practical cooperation in energy and circular economy with Shandong, said a lieutenant governor of Upper Austria.

The 4th China-Austria Local Cooperation Forum was jointly held by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Austria-China Friendship Association to promote green development and economic and trade cooperation.
