The second batch of 22 projects with a total investment of 10.79 billion yuan ($1.66 billion) started construction on Aug 4 in the Jinan Start-up Area of Growth Drivers Transformation.

The projects involve the environment, housing security, industrial development, public services, and infrastructure.

Investment in the housing and security projects totaled 5.66 billion yuan, accounting for 52.46 percent of total investment in the batch of projects.

The first-phase of a recycle-water reuse center in the intelligent manufacturing industrial park is expected to begin operating by September 2022. After completion, it will become a model water conservation project for the city.

The area has attracted 16 companies in the  Fortune Global 500 and signed agreements for 81 projects with a total investment of 254.4 billion yuan.

Construction and investment work is being accelerated. The area will speed up the construction of Metro Line 3 and expand construction of the Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport. More efforts will also be made to improve public service infrastructure.
