The second edition of the Qingdao Multinationals Summit will kick off on July 15 in the eastern coastal hub of Qingdao, Shandong province.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shandong Provincial People's Government, the event will be held in both online and offline venues, offering a platform to declare the country's firm determination to open up further to the outside world, facilitate cooperation between multinationals and China, discuss multinational issues, spread the voices and share the experiences of multinationals, as well as link resources for multinationals.

According to the organizing committee, 267 multinational companies from 31 countries and regions have registered for participation offline. Among them, 125 are the world's top 500 companies and 142 are industry leaders.

There will be 24 guests at the global vice president level or above from the Global 500, 70 guests at the president level of the Global 500 China, 100 guests at the vice president level of the China region from the Global 500, and 142 guests at the president level of the China region of industry leaders.

In addition, 207 senior personnel from 179 domestic industry giants have signed up for the event, including Tan Xuguang, president of Sinotruk, and Zhou Yunjie, president of home appliance giant Haier Group.

An opening ceremony, closed-door meetings, themed salons, sub-forums, multinational roadshows, city roadshows, project-matchmaking activities, and organizing committee activities will be held during the summit.

A supporting expo, named the "2021 New Growth Drivers Fair," will be held at the Qingdao Cosmopolitan Exposition. Spanning an exhibition area of 23,500 square meters, it is designed to display the latest products and technologies of leading enterprises at home and abroad, as well as promote the industrial advantages and development opportunities of Shandong.
