Yantai deepens ties with Fortune Global 500 companies

Yantai, East China's Shandong province, hosted an online dialogue with the top executives of the world's top 500 enterprises on June 28.

Zheng Deyan, mayor of Yantai, spoke with the top executives from Sumitomo Corporation, Linde China, Hyundai Motor Group and French Air Liquide Group. The four companies have close cooperative ties with Yantai in areas such as chemical engineering, automobiles and environment protection.

The representatives said that they are optimistic about the investment environment in Yantai and will continue to promote cooperation and deepen practical cooperation in the fields of new energy, automobiles, medical care, intelligent parking, and sewage treatment.

Zheng said that Yantai will make efforts to improve its business environment, integrate the city's resources to build a batch of industrial projects, and attract more enterprises to bolster the construction of industrial clusters.

"Yantai has great potential for cooperation with Sumitomo Corporation. I hope more cooperation will be made in the fields of healthcare, smart parking and sewage treatment," said Daisuke Mikogami, general manager of Japanese Sumitomo Corporation in East Asia.

Yantai has a long history of cooperation with Japan. As of May 2021, a total of 1,255 Japanese-funded projects with a combined contracted investment of $5.54 billion had been approved.
