The fourth session of the 12th Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference opened on Feb 1 in Jinan, capital of Shandong province.

During the four-and-half-day session, members of the committee, which is the province's political consultative body, will focus on the promotion of Shandong's social and economic development. Proposals will then be submitted to the CPPCC Shandong Committee.

Fu Zhifang, chairman of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, delivered the annual work report of the Standing Committee of the 12th Shandong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC for the past year, reviewing the committee's achievements in 2020 and its plans for 2021.
