The Jinan government recently unveiled a blueprint for its cross-border e-commerce pilot zone.

The city plans to develop a strong cross-border e-commerce industry by 2022. The industry is expected to generate 20 billion yuan ($2.82 billion) in revenue and have an average annual growth rate of over 30 percent.

It also plans to introduce 10 cross-border e-commerce platforms and register at least 1,000 enterprises on them.

A total of 20 public overseas warehouses for cross-border e-commerce and three to five cross-border e-commerce industrial clusters will be established as well.

In addition, artificial intelligence, blockchain, intelligent manufacturing, high-end equipment, healthcare, and information technology industries will be developed in the zone.
