$9.97 billion worth of projects in Shandong signed during online conference

Print PrintAn online signing ceremony for foreign-funded projects was held in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province on May 11.
A total of 92 key projects to be built in the province were signed. The projects, which involve 18 countries and regions, including the United States, Japan, South Korea and Singapore, will receive a total investment of $9.97 billion.

The signed projects include high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials, modern high-efficiency agriculture, health care, modern finance and more, local officials said.
Liu Jiayi, Party secretary of Shandong, said that Shandong is gradually resuming normal economic and social activities while continuing to fight the epidemic. The province has been ramping up efforts to realize further opening-up and promote business and cooperation.

Liu also highlighted the province's sound business environment, good industrial foundation and system, preferential policy measures as well as development strategies such as the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Shandong comprehensive pilot zone to replace old economic growth drivers with new ones and the demonstration zone in Qingdao for economic collaboration with Shanghai Cooperation Organization members.
