Jinan's imports and exports up 6.4% in first 2 months

The imports and exports value of Jinan city amounted to 15.04 billion yuan ($2.24 billion) in the first two months of this year, 6.4 percentage points faster than the pace in 2018, according to the statistics of Jinan Customs.

The total value accounts for 5.1 percent of the value of foreign trade in Shandong province. Its imports value totaled 5.71 billion yuan, up 15 percent and exports totaled 9.33 billion yuan, up 1.7 percent.

In the January-February period, imports and exports of state-owned and foreign-invested enterprises increased, while private enterprises declined.

The import and export of private companies in Jinan reached 8.13 billion yuan, down 9.2 percent, accounting for 54.1 percent of the total value of the city. Imports and exports by state-owned enterprises totaled 3.6 billion yuan, up 80.1 percent.
