Hangzhou, known as the "earthly paradise", is the capital and the largest city in East China's Zhejiang province.
It was an imperial capital during the Song Dynasty, dating back more than 800 years.
The historical transportation hub built in the Yangtze River Delta region is only 180 kilometers from Shanghai.
The renowned tourist sites of West Lake and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal were listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2008.
Boasting a long history and a myriad of cultural and tourism resources, the city has become known as one of the best livable cities and low-carbon cities in China. It was ranked as one of China's top 10 happiest cities in 2018, the only city to make the list for 12 consecutive years.
It's now also recognized as one of the country's top 10 innovative cities, and also a hub of e-commerce.
