Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, was listed in second place for business climate in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region with an index score of 73.5, closely following Shanghai, said a recent report released by Tsinghua University and Beijing Govmade Research Centre.
The region includes Shanghai, and Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.
The 2019 Business Climate Survey Report of YRD Region, which was released on Feb 20, was based on 26 cities in the delta region and evaluated four first-level indicators, 17 second-level indicators and 42 key evaluations.
Of the four first-level indicators, Hangzhou performed well in attractiveness index and ranked first in ease of doing business across the region.
The report compared the ease of doing business through six second-level indicators including the establishment of the company, real estate registration, construction permits, company deregistration and corporate tax.
Indicators such as market access, technological innovation and talent introduction were included in the attractiveness index.
Over the years, Hangzhou has made continuous efforts to optimize its business climate by advancing government services, trade policies, industrial development, entrepreneurship and innovation, legal and justice resources, and the ecological environment.
