Hangzhou to boost entrepreneurship, innovation
Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, will go further in its innovation-driven development and entrepreneurship, with more policy incentives to optimize its business environment and attract more talents, according to Zhou Jiangyong, Party chief of the capital.
Zhou made the remarks on Feb 11 at a meeting where he had in-depth exchanges with startup representatives and was briefed on the status quo of their companies.
He stressed that Hangzhou is not only an ancient and historic city, but also a modern capital full of innovation and vigor where a great number of makers all over the country start their businesses.
It is incumbent for the government departments at all levels to build platforms, simplify business procedures and help startup companies to work out pressing issues in the course of development, especially capital and talent shortage, so as to further enhance the support for innovation and entrepreneurship and make them a golden name card for Hangzhou.
Prior to the meeting, Zhou also visited the Hangzhou International Talents Entrepreneurship and Innovation Park, saying that more emphasis should be placed on improving services of the park and attracting more high-level talents.
Opened in 2017, the park is the first of its kind in the country aimed at attracting high-caliber international talents and quality projects to boost entrepreneurship and innovation.
