Zhenfeng county in the Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture held a cultural festival featuring the wedding traditions of the Bouyei ethnic group on July 28. 

One wooden house in Nakong village, Zhexiang town, was decorated with lanterns and red hangings. The groom rode a horse, leading his two best men and two present guards to deliver candies, wine and meat to the bride's house.

The bride wore traditional Bouyei wedding garb – a black dress and blue headscarf – that she is only allowed to wear once in her lifetime. 

The couple offered sacrifices to her ancestors and the elderly expressed their blessings to them. The groom then lifted the bride into a sedan chair and returned to his home.
