The National People's Congress (NPC), the top legislature of China, on Wednesday strongly condemned and firmly opposed the U.S. House of Representatives' passing of the so-called Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act of 2019.
Under the guise of human rights and democracy, the act is a blatant intervention in Hong Kong affairs and gross interference in China's domestic affairs, the NPC committee said in a statement.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), the top legislature, on Thursday condemned the passing of a so-called resolution concerning Hong Kong by the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee.
A senior official has called for cooperation from parliaments of all countries to promote peace and development.
The act's accusations against China disregard the facts and are full of prejudice, and completely unacceptable by the Chinese side, it said.
