In recent years, by relying on its geographical advantages and favorable policies, Ningxia has developed electronics and information technology industries involving photovoltaic manufacturing, lithium-ion batteries, intelligent terminal manufacturing, semiconductors and other electronic components. The scale of the electronics and information technology industries will be continuously expanded through implementing policy support and building a platform to introduce leading enterprises.
Ningxia has gathered the world's largest manufacturers of photovoltaic monocrystalline silicon and built seven large data centers, such as Amazon Web Service and Meili Cloud. It is also a national province of "internet plus medical health" and "internet plus education".
It is planned that the scale of the region's electronics and information technology industries will reach 80 billion yuan (about $12.6 billion) by 2025. Industrial clusters with western region-wide influence will be built.
