Qibu port area of Tongzhou Bay breaks container throughput record in Q1-3
Lvsi Qibu port area of Tongzhou Bay has shown robust growth in container throughput over the past three quarters of this year.
During the first nine months of 2025, a total of 361 container ships, up 51.58 percent year-on-year, berthed at the Jiangsu Hutong Container Terminal in the port area. The terminal achieved a record-breaking 160,400 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) in container throughput, marking a 32.16 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Jiangsu Hutong Container Terminal is the first fully-intelligent and unmanned container terminal in Jiangsu province. Since it began operations on Oct 26, 2022, the terminal has significantly cut ship time and enhanced quay crane efficiency, and has opened up new logistics channels for the foreign trade transportation of the middle and northern parts of Jiangsu.
