Chongchuan holds innovation and venture contest
The innovation and venture contest by the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province came to a close on Nov 9.
The contest started in August.
Six projects related to implantable medical devices and cadmium-free quantum dots were awarded prizes during the contest. These projects will also be launched in the zone.
The contest received more than 120 project submissions, of which 12 related to fields such as automotive electronics, intelligent manufacturing, integrated circuits and biomedicine made the final.
The contest serves as an important platform to attract high-caliber talents who will help with the setting up of the projects in the zone.
The zone is presently home to 17 listed companies, five provincial "little giant" enterprises, five national little giants and five provincial "potential unicorn" enterprises.
Winners of the first and second prizes will be included in the zone's elite program and will receive subsidies of up to 5 million yuan ($689,658) each. The team winners will receive up to 6 million yuan in subsidies each, according to the authorities.
In addition, the zone will provide support in terms of office spaces, policies and finance to eligible individuals or teams.
