The Fan Yang Art Hall, named after the renowned contemporary calligrapher and painter, has been open to the public on the first floor of the Nantong Art Museum.
The art hall covers an area of 700 square meters and consists of two exhibition areas – one for literature and the other for visual artwork. It showcases Fan's artistic journey and his representative creations.

The 500-sq-m area exhibiting artwork features no fewer than 84 works. At the end of the exhibition area, there are interactive display screens and a book and magazine display area, which help visitors delve deeper into Fan's artistic world. Additionally, a branch exhibition of his artworks has been set up in Jin'ao Mansion, a century-old residence on Sijie block.
Fan said he plans to organize at least three high-profile academic exhibitions each year, inviting renowned artists from around the country to visit Nantong and the Nantong Art Museum. This aims to provide a platform for young students in Nantong to engage and learn from distinguished artists, thereby contributing to the sustained prosperity of Nantong's art.
Born in Hong Kong in January 1955, Fan moved back to his ancestral home in Nantong around the age of two, where he grew up immersed in traditional culture.
Having dedicated over 50 years to his art, Fan has developed his own inimitable style. His brushwork is robust yet lively, and his compositions are grand and poetic. His creative themes blend tradition with modernity, infusing new vitality into landscapes, figures, and bird-and-flower paintings with contemporary techniques, while also focusing on current events like sports.
