Chongchuan ranks 39th in list of China's top 100 districts
The Urban Economic Research Center of CCID Consulting released its 2025 list of China's top 100 districts in terms of high-quality development, with Chongchuan district ranking 39th nationally and sixth in the province.
Since the beginning of this year, Chongchuan has firmly prioritized high-quality development as its primary task. In the first half of the year, the district achieved a regional GDP of 99.10 billion yuan ($13.82 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent. The per capita disposable income of urban residents reached 41,560 yuan, the highest in Nantong.
The district signed agreements on and registered 35 major industrial projects, with strategic emerging industries and future industries accounting for nearly 70 percent of the total. Both project completion rates and conversion rates ranked among the highest in the city. Additionally, 30 high-growth sci-tech innovation projects were certified.
Over the past three years, Chongchuan has vigorously promoted the integrated development of technological and industrial innovation. The district's high-tech industry output value accounts for a leading proportion citywide, while its strategic emerging industries hold the top position in the city.
