On Nov 13, the provincial inspection team, consisting of the Jiangsu Department of Commerce, Jiangsu Maritime Safety Administration, Nanjing Customs, and the Jiangsu Border Inspection Station, approved the opening of berths G4 and G5 at Yangkou Port, as well as general cargo berths F1 and F2. This approval follows an on-site inspection and review meeting.
The liquid chemical terminal has seen a steady increase in throughput, driven by rising demand for raw materials from large enterprises such as Jiatong Energy. This year, the terminal has already handled 381 ships, with a total throughput of 3.58 million metric tons, a record high. Among these, 321 domestic vessels carried 3.12 million tons of cargo, while 61 international vessels carried over 450,000 tons.

Located south of Sunshine Island, the Yangkou Port Liquid Chemical Terminal features five berths (G1 to G5) with a design throughput capacity of 6.5 million tons per year. The approval for berths G4 and G5 marks a significant milestone, with all five berths now officially open to support further industrial development in the port area.
The general cargo terminal, located to the east of the liquid chemical terminal, includes upgraded berths F1 and F2. F1 is a 50,000-ton general cargo berth, and F2 is a 5,000-ton berth, with a total annual throughput capacity of 3 million tons. So far this year, the terminal has handled 17 pulp ships, with a total throughput of 180,000 tons, and in March, it completed its first unloading operation for a foreign vessel.
